Shabon means “soap bubbles” in Japanese and just as cute as its name, so is owner Rie Fujii.    Rie is from Japan and was accustomed to wearing high-end fashion designs like Yohi Yamamoto and Comme Des Garcons; she had a completely different sense of style.  While visiting a friend in New York City at age 28, Rie was shocked when she went to a flea market, “I was so shocked when I first discovered vintage, I’d never worn it before and the quality was so amazing.”  After moving to Los Angeles with her fiancé she discovered the Rose Bowl flea market, “The Rose Bowl changed my life”, fifteen years later she still runs Shabon in West Hollywood and caters to those looking for quality designer fashion pieces.
