ROSE BOWL FLEA MARKET
2nd Sunday of every month
1001 Rose Bowl Dr
Pasadena, CA 91103
One of my most anticipated stops on this trip was the Rose Bowl flea market. I had to make sure I was in L.A. at the same time as the once-a-month infamous market and I wasn’t going as a vendor, I was going as a customer/blogger/spectator.
Hands-down, this is the best monthly market in the country. It’s actually a bit overwhelming if you are a first-timer and should look at the online map in advance. There are different locations in the massive compound that cater to different types of vendors (furniture, vintage, contemporary design…). If you pay just a few dollars more, you can get in early bird style and snatch up the best of, before others do.
WARNING
**It’s hot as balls! It’s sunny! There’s no where to hide! Where a big floppy hat and for Pete’s sake, BRING sunblock with you. And CASH!!! You have to exit the venue to find an ATM, no bueno!**
Again, if you are on the hunt for vintage apparel, it can be extremely overwhelming as, there is an entire parking lot area dedicated to these dealers. You will find plenty of the wholesale dealers out there with ridiculously affordable vintage. Just look for the massive tents that take up about 10 spaces or mounds of clothes piled onto a tarp with women digging though it like lions on a dead zebra.
I had a great time meeting vendors and shoppers alike and one of my favorite things to do is take vintage street fashion photos. I had a few repeat emails asking “When are you posting my pictures?” Well, here they are! 🙂
