Today I got to chat (and laugh) with hip husband and wife duo, Zoe and Lee. Their vintage, local-design and art store is only 4 years old but has a bright future here in the budding neighborhood of North Park, San Diego. Zoe has been thrifting since she was a little girl and doing all her friend’s alterations since high-school so, naturally she became a fashion designer. Not that long ago, she was happily laid off from her golf-apparel design job and began building her vintage empire with her severance pay and dream of owning her own retail store. Her husband, Lee, is their companies graphic designer, local San Diego DJ and more importantly, a unicorn whisperer.
Their store, Hunt & Gather, is great place to stop on trendy University Avenue if you are looking for affordable, modern-style vintage and locally made goods. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for store events offering in-store sales, food, drinks and Lee spinning music into the night.
