En route to El Paso and out in the middle of BFE (B.F.El Paso) off of I-10 is a junk yard (or treasure yard) of “stuff”. I accidentally stumbled upon this place and had to do a U-ey off the freeway. When you enter the lot of the massive two-story warehouse, you have to carefully park so you don’t back into an old toilet when you leave. I was greeted by an old airplane vaulted up in the air. The courtyard is overflowing with lawn sculptures, fences, concrete fixtures and….toilets. Walk up onto the wooden rickety steps and take a walk on the wrap-around porch full of old 1950s stoves, ice boxes, crates and dusty couches. Next walk inside and finally there is air conditioning and more “cared-for” merchandise. I won’t claim it’s the cleanest place but, there are tons of vendor-type booths catering to all likes of shoppers. Turquoise jewelry, military paraphernalia, collectables, art work, cowboy decor and retro home goods. Scattered throughout the store are male mannequins that I swear are turning their heads as I walk past…It was creepy! But, it’s all made up for at the register when you buy an ice cream.
